I am a mature, reliable and compassionate lady and was a full time carer to my own mother who had Alzheimer's. I now work part time for the Alzheimer Society as a HCW. I understand the needs, challenges and frustrations that can occur with all forms of dementia, both for the caree and their family. I am available in the Duhallow area (Kanturk, Newmarket, Millstreet, Rathmore, Boherbue, Cullen etc) for regular care work or simply to give a family carer a much-needed break. I have completed the following courses: QQI 5 Care of the Older Person, Care Skills & Palliative Care; Patient Moving & Handling; Dementia – Understanding and Managing Challenging Behaviour; Dementia Care – Staying Connected & Living Well; Insights into Dementia (Alzheimer Society of Ireland).
